sundance 4

films i didn't see but that i want to.

  • Push. with Lenny Kravitz and Mariah Carey. About a girl in New York who is fat, can't read, write, and is pregant with her father's child. Filled with passion inspired by anger and hope. Picked up by Lionsgate for distribution in the US.
  • The September Issue. Documentary about the editor of Vogue and the fashion industry. Picked up by Roadside Attraction for distribution in the US. Appropriately set to be released in...you guessed it...September.
  • Afghan Star. Documentary from the UK about Afghanistan's version of American Idol. Competitors come from all ages, ethnic groups, cultures, backgrounds, and genders. Some even risk their lives to compete.
  • The End of the Line. (I know, another documentary). About safe fish, and saving fish. What fish are good to eat, and where they should come from. One thing they used to promote this film was a huge red mascot-fish. he was sooo cool looking!
  • An Education. About a 16-year-old girl in London who falls in love with an older guy that gives her an education that she can't get in school. A coming-of-age story that is supposedly brilliant. Picked up by Sony Classics, and set to come out this fall in the US.
